Privacy Policy for Viper

This Privacy Policy explains how the Viper mobile application (“Viper”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information. By using Viper you agree to this policy.

Viper is an arcade snake game. It requires no account and no sign-in, and the core game works offline. Information leaves your device in exactly two situations, both described below: the optional ghost players feature, and advertising.

Information Stored on Your Device Only

Your game progress — coins, scores, streaks, unlocked cosmetics, settings, and purchase state — is saved locally on your device using the operating system’s standard storage. It is not transmitted to us. It is removed when you use the in-app “Reset progress” option or uninstall the app.

Ghost Players — What Leaves Your Device

Viper’s arenas feature “ghosts” of real players: recordings of other players’ runs that replay as rival snakes. To make this work, after a strong run the app uploads to our game server:

• your display name — a pseudonym the app generates (e.g. “Viper123”) unless you change it; you can edit or anonymize it at any time in Settings → Player;
• a short gameplay recording of that run — your snake’s position and length over time. Nothing else: no messages, no contacts, no identity, no device identifiers.

These recordings appear in other players’ games as rival snakes labelled with your display name. Display names are filtered for offensive content on both upload and download. Pick a name that doesn’t identify you if you prefer.

Information Collected for Advertising

Viper shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect and process certain information, which can include:

• your device’s advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID);
• device information (such as device model, operating system version, and language);
• approximate, coarse location derived from your IP address;
• interactions with ads (such as views and taps).

We do not receive this information in a form that identifies you personally. It is handled by Google under Google’s own privacy policy.

Buying Remove Ads or the Viper Pass stops banner and interstitial ads. Rewarded ads only ever play when you choose to watch one.

In-App Purchases

Purchases (Remove Ads, the 30-day Viper Pass, cosmetic skins and boards, coin packs) are processed by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. Purchases attach to your Google Play account; non-consumable purchases can be restored from Settings → Restore Purchases. The Viper Pass is a one-time purchase valid for 30 days — it does not auto-renew.

How Information Is Used

• Ghost data (display name + gameplay recordings) is used solely to populate arenas with real players’ runs.
• Information collected through AdMob is used to display advertisements (including, where permitted, personalized advertisements), measure ad performance, and help prevent fraud and abuse.
• Locally stored game data is used only to run the game on your device.

Third-Party Services

• Google Play Billing (purchases) — handled by Google Play under Google’s terms.
• Supabase (our game-server hosting for ghost runs) — stores only the display name + gameplay recordings described above, on our behalf.

Your Choices

• Change or anonymize your display name at any time (Settings → Player).
• Request deletion of your uploaded ghost runs by emailing greysonmiller67@gmail.com.
• Personalized ads: opt out or reset ad personalization in your device settings — on Android under Settings → Google → Ads.
• Reset your advertising identifier in the same place.
• Clear local game data with “Reset progress” inside the app, or by uninstalling.

Children’s Privacy

Viper is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.

Data Retention and Deletion

Locally stored game data remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Uploaded ghost runs are kept on our server so arenas stay populated, and are deleted on request (see above). Information processed by Google AdMob is retained by Google in accordance with Google’s own policies.

Security

Ghost uploads and advertising traffic are transmitted over HTTPS. Ghost data is pseudonymous — there are no accounts, so no credentials or personal profiles exist on our server to be exposed.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this address with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
