Privacy Policy — Platewell
Last updated: 22 August 2026
Platewell is a diet and meal-planning app published by greybits. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information.
The short version: Platewell has no accounts and no servers. Everything you enter stays on your phone. The only information that ever leaves your device is what Google's advertising service needs in order to show ads, and that is described in full below.
1. Information you enter, and where it stays
To build a plan, Platewell asks you for things like your age, height, current weight, goal weight, activity level, dietary preferences and any ingredients you want to avoid. As you use the app it also keeps your chosen plan, which days you have completed, any meal swaps you have made, and the weights you log over time.
All of this is stored only on your own device, in the app's private storage. It is not uploaded anywhere. We cannot see it, we do not have a copy of it, and there is no account to sign in to. If you uninstall Platewell, this information is deleted with it.
Every weight in the app is a number you typed in yourself. Platewell does not measure you, does not estimate your body, does not read any health or fitness service, and does not connect to any wearable, scale or health platform.
2. Information collected by advertising
Platewell is free and supported by advertising, provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process:
- your device's advertising ID;
- general device and app information (device model, operating system version, app version, language, coarse region);
- ad interaction data such as impressions and clicks;
- an approximate location derived from your IP address. Platewell never requests or receives your precise GPS location — the app holds no location permission at all.
This processing is carried out by Google as an independent party under its own policies, not by us. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Your information is never combined with the plan and weight data described in section 1. That data never leaves your phone, so it is not available to advertising in the first place.
Your ad-privacy choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Platewell shows you a Google-certified consent form the first time you open the app, and you choose what advertising is allowed. You can change your answer at any time: Settings → Ad privacy choices.
Everywhere else, you can limit ad personalisation from your device's own settings — on Android under Settings → Google → Ads, where you can also reset or delete your advertising ID; on iPhone and iPad under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On iPhone and iPad, Platewell only ever requests non-personalised ads. It does not ask for permission to track you, does not read the advertising identifier for targeting, and shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because it has nothing to ask for.
3. Purchases
Platewell offers one optional purchase, a one-time upgrade that removes all ads.
The purchase is handled entirely by the store you installed Platewell from — Google Play Billing on Android, the App Store on iPhone and iPad. Payment details go to that store, never to us — Platewell never sees, receives or stores your card, billing address or any other financial information. All the app ever learns is whether the upgrade is active, which is a single yes-or-no value kept on your device.
If you buy the upgrade, all advertising stops, and with it the collection described in section 2.
4. What Platewell does NOT do
To be unambiguous, the app does not:
- create an account, or ask for your name, email address or phone number;
- send your plan, profile or weight history anywhere;
- use any analytics, crash-reporting or attribution service;
- track you across other apps or websites;
- access your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files or precise location;
- sell or share your personal information with anyone.
5. Permissions
Platewell requests only what it needs to function. On Android these appear as declared permissions:
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet & network state | Loading ads. The app's own content works fully offline. |
| Advertising ID | Ad serving, as described in section 2. |
| Billing | The optional ad-removal purchase. |
On iPhone and iPad, Platewell requests no permissions at all — no tracking prompt, and nothing that produces a system permission dialog.
On both platforms the app holds no camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage or health permission, and it connects to no health or fitness service.
6. Children
Platewell is a diet-planning app intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, please contact us at the address below.
7. Your control over your data
Because everything is stored locally, you are in direct control of it:
- Delete everything — Settings → Reset all data erases your profile, plan, progress and weight history immediately and permanently.
- Delete everything, including the app — uninstalling Platewell removes all of it.
- Change your ad choices — see section 2.
There is no server-side copy to request, export or correct, because none exists.
8. Health disclaimer
Platewell provides general wellness content — ready-made meal ideas and portion suggestions. It is not medical advice, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and is no substitute for a doctor or registered dietitian. Calorie figures are estimates. Please talk to your doctor before starting any diet, especially if you are pregnant, under 18, have a medical condition, or take medication.
9. Security
Your data is held in the app's private storage area, which the operating system isolates from other apps. Since nothing is transmitted to us, there is no server or database of yours for anyone to breach.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top, and the copy inside the app will be updated to match in the same release.
