Privacy Policy — Resume AI 2026

Last updated: 4 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Resume AI 2026 app (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use it, how we use it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it. Resume AI 2026 is published under the application ID com.proapps.resumeai.

By installing or using the App you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Account information

When you sign up or sign in we collect:

Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. Firebase stores this data on Google’s infrastructure under their own privacy terms (see Section 4).

1.2 Resume content you provide

The App stores the content you enter or upload, including:

This data is stored locally on your device in Android SharedPreferences, keyed by your Firebase user ID. It is not uploaded to our servers and does not sync between devices.

1.3 Profile photo extraction

If you upload an existing resume PDF, the App uses on-device Google ML Kit face detection to find and crop your photo from page 1. This processing happens entirely on your device — the PDF image data is not sent to any server. The cropped photo is stored in your app’s private internal storage.

1.4 AI prompts and responses

When you use AI features (summary generation, bullet rewrites, ATS analysis, cover letter generation, AI career assistant chat, home tip, skill/course/certification suggestions, role title polish, resume upload parsing), the App sends the relevant portions of your resume content and your inputs to Google Gemini via Firebase AI Logic, hosted on Google’s infrastructure. These prompts may include the contents of your resume.

Google processes the prompt to generate a response and returns it to the App. Google’s handling of your data is governed by the Google AI usage policies and the Firebase data processing terms.

We do not train any model on your data. The App does not log AI prompts anywhere other than passing them to Gemini for the immediate response.

1.5 Voice input

If you tap the microphone in the AI Career Assistant, your voice is captured and transcribed by the Android system speech recogniser (provided by your device’s OS / Google services). The audio is not processed or stored by us. Only the resulting text transcript is returned to the App and inserted into the chat input field.

1.6 GitHub integration (optional)

If you choose to import projects from GitHub, the App uses GitHub’s public REST API to fetch your public repository list. We send your provided GitHub username and receive public repo metadata. No GitHub credentials are stored.

1.7 Advertising data

The App displays ads using the Google AdMob SDK. AdMob may collect or receive:

Google’s collection and use of advertising data are governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services notice.

You can reset or limit your Advertising ID through your device’s Settings → Privacy → Ads at any time.

1.8 Analytics

The App does not integrate Firebase Analytics or any third-party analytics SDK. The only telemetry leaving your device is whatever Firebase Authentication, Firebase AI Logic, AdMob, and Google ML Kit collect as a normal part of their operation (see their respective privacy notices).

2. How we use the information

We use the information collected to:

We do not sell your personal data, share it with advertisers outside of the AdMob ad-serving relationship described above, or use it for any purpose beyond what is described in this Policy.

3. Where your data is stored

Data Stored where
Account credentials Google Firebase Authentication servers
Resume content (text, photo URI, styling) Local SharedPreferences on your device, keyed by your UID
Cached AI tip per resume Local SharedPreferences on your device
Generated PDFs Your device’s app cache (for share/preview) and Android Downloads folder (when you tap Download)
Extracted profile photo Your device’s private internal app storage
AI prompts Sent to Google Firebase AI Logic for processing; not retained by the App

Local data persists until you uninstall the App or sign out (sign-out keeps locally-saved drafts but loads the “guest” slot — the previous account’s drafts remain on disk under that account’s UID until the App data is cleared in Android settings).

4. Third-party services we rely on

The App uses the following services. Their own privacy practices apply to data they process:

5. Permissions the App requests

The App does not request the camera, microphone, contacts, location, or storage permissions. (Voice dictation uses the system speech service, which manages the microphone permission itself; PDF saves go through the system Downloads folder via MediaStore and do not require a storage permission on modern Android versions.)

6. Children’s privacy

The App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at the address below so we can delete it.

7. Your rights and choices

You can:

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable laws (for example the EU General Data Protection Regulation or the California Consumer Privacy Act), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to processing. Reach out at the address below to exercise any of these rights.

8. Data retention

9. Security

We rely on Google Firebase’s authentication and transport security (HTTPS / TLS) for all network traffic. Resume content stored locally on your device is protected by Android’s standard per-app sandboxing and is not readable by other apps. No transmission or storage system is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your device locked.

10. International transfers

Google’s servers are located in multiple regions. By using the App and its Google-powered features you understand that personal data may be processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this document and, for material changes, surface a notice in the App. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
